Ali is passionate about supporting the emotional and social development of individuals. She has extensive experience working with young children, adolescents and families. Ali is a registered psychologist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She is currently working on her PhD in Medical Studies. Ali is an approved and registered support provider with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). She is also a trained facilitator in the latest Secret Agent Society (SAS) program, which is a social skills program for 8-12 year old children with social and emotional challenges such as ASD.
Ali is skilled at treating a wide range of mental health issues, drawing from therapeutic models including: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Schema Therapy. Ali has a particular interest in working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, and relationship difficulties. Ali also enjoys working with families using a family systems approach. This method considers the family as the client rather than one individual from the family unit. Family members are invited to participate in finding solutions to the current presenting issue.
Ali has a keen interest and specific training and experience in psychological assessment of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs), cognitive assessments, assessment of learning difficulties, as well as difficulties with memory, attention, behaviour, social, mental health and wellbeing.
Ali is always very happy to work with other medical professionals (GP, Paediatricians, Psychiatrists) and allied health professionals (Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Pathologists), as well as teachers and school psychologists to conduct thorough assessments and discuss behaviour management plans. Ali also offers ongoing post-diagnosis support.
