Patients

PSYCH2U offers Psychiatric and Psychology appointments through our telehealth platform. What is telehealth I hear you say? Telehealth is a consultation conducted by video or via a personal computer between you and your Psychiatrist or Psychologist. The consultation may occur at home, at your Medical Centre or anywhere you are able to connect to the internet.

The benefits of using telehealth to access your Psychiatrist or Psychologist are:

  • Reduced waiting times
  • Reduced travel time
  • Affordable.

To enable PSYCH2U to bulk bill your appointment you must live outside a major city. Telehealth eligibility is determined according to the Australian Standard Geographical Classification Remoteness Area (ASGC-RA) classifications. Medicare benefits are available for services provided to patients outside of RA1 – Major Cities. You can identify if you are eligible by looking at the map here http://www.doctorconnect.gov.au/internet/otd/publishing.nsf/Content/Locator. If you are wanting to consult with a Psychologist you must be in a RA4, RA5, RA6, RA7 location.

How to make an appointment?

  1. Obtain a referral from your local GP, the referral can be made out to PSYCH2U Psychiatrists
  2. Ask your GP to fax the referral to our offices - 1800 472 832
